MBMBP is a branch of the International Mountain Bicycling Association's National Mountain Bike Patrol.

Patrollers provide assistance to hikers, equestrians, and especially mountain bikers.

They give information, provide directions, help with minor repairs, and provide first aid.

The fundamental goal of mountain bike patrols is to ensure trail access for recreational users, especially mountain bikers.

Mountain bike patrols work in cooperation with land managers to meet specific needs of their local riding area.

9/20/03 National Public Lands Day / Trail Maintenance
The trail maintenance day in conjunction with NPLD was a great success.  Over 40 people showed up to volunteer.  The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle ran an article beforehand requesting volunteers and highlighted previous BikeNet trail maintenance days.  CBS Channel 5, KGWN, also covered the event on their evening news broadcast.

9/18/03 One of six Fall 2003 IMBA/CLIF Bar Trail Preservation Grants has been awarded to Laramie BikeNet (of which MBMBP is a part of).  The Laramie Bicycling Network (BikeNet) will use grant monies to create trail education signs at Pole Mountain Recreational Area in Albany County.  Local land managers asked BikeNet to help create signs that emphasize the importance of staying on the trail and sharing it with other users.
